High on high speed

Here’s more encouraging news on high-speed rail.  I’m especially gratified by the analysis comparing efficiency (time, energy, and otherwise) on high-speed rail and airplanes.  A huge key to transit’s success in this era hinges on both the perception and reality that taking transit doesn’t really require a sacrifice.  Inevitably, you sacrifice a degree of privacy, but you get so much in return (relaxation, productivity, etc.).
